 | Get an estimate in writing:
 | The agreement should specify the estimated number of pounds, how
long the trip will take (from point A to B) and the amount of
time needed to load and unload. |
 | Ask for a guaranteed delivery date. Found out how many
workers are needed to load and unload, and how much that will cost
per hour. |
 | Question whether other people's deliveries will be on the same
truck with yours. |
 | Ask were your goods are in order of loading or unloading.
Stops and drop=offs en route to you can make a major difference in
determining when your goods are delivered. |
 | Find out what the insurance company pays in case of an accident
or other damage to your shipment. |
|
 | It is a must to get your own separate coverage to cover your
valuables in case of breakage or damage during the move, since most
moving companies furnish only minimal coverage by the pound.
